Standards Review Mechanism Tripartite Working Group (SRM TWG)

Seventh meeting of the SRM TWG (2022)

As decided by the Governing Body at its 343rd Session in November 2021, the seventh meeting of the Standards Review Mechanism Tripartite Working Group (SRM TWG) took place from 12 to 16 September 2022. During this meeting, the SRM TWG undertook a review of the Workmen’s Compensation (Agriculture) Convention, 1921 (No. 12). It also examined the follow-up to be taken to six further instruments falling within the topic of social security (employment injury) and previously determined to be outdated.

At the request of the Officers of the Governing Body, the SRM TWG undertook a preliminary discussion in relation to the question of the final provisions of international labour Conventions, that will be discussed by the Governing Body at a later date.

Preparatory documents

A series of preparatory documents facilitated discussions at this meeting. The first group of documents concern the SRM TWG’s review of the Workmen’s Compensation (Agriculture) Convention, 1921 (No. 12), and the examination of the follow-up to the six outdated instruments falling within the subject area of social security (employment injury). A second group of documents include two working papers concerning standards policy matters. The third group are supporting documents concerning the SRM TWG’s internal work plan, the implementation of previous SRM TWG recommendations, and arrangements for the eighth meeting.
